Best in-class Colombia gold developer, Continental Gold (CNL:TSX), released assay results from the latest 13 drill holes from the Veta Sur and northern Estera systems at the Buritica project in Colombia.  Highlights include: hole BUUY149 which encountered 0.5m of 101.5g/t gold and 20g/t silver and hole BUUY353 which encountered 2.5m of 12g/t gold and 37g/t silver.  All 13 holes were successful at extending and infilling vein families at Veta Sur.  Drilling outside of the current block model for the Veta Sur system included unmodelled veins to the northeast of the current model and which strike southwest to a lateral strike of 350m and to a depth of over 1,000m.  The veins remain open along strike and at depth.

Importantly, drilling within the existing mineral resource are consistent in grade and thickness with some intersections reporting significantly higher gold grades than the existing resource.  As with most narrow high-grade vein systems, continuity of grade is critical and this latest batch of assay grades are inline with grades seen in the current mineral resource.  Drill hole BUSY354 and channel sampling of the Veta Sur ramp have encountered veins to the south of the current resource block model and may represent 150m step-out, along strike, of the Laurel vein system within the La Estera zone.

Underground sampling and mapping near the Veta Sur ramp has encountered gold and silver-rich vein families with east-northeast and north-northwest strikes.  Additionally, some of the samples to the east of BUSY354 may correlate with the Laurel vein family of the La Estera area.

“Since announcing the first Veta Sur assay results for 2013 on July 9, both infill and step-out results have exceeded expectations,” commented Ari Sussman, chief executive officer. “With an Oct. 31, 2013, cut-off date for final assays ahead of our next mineral resource update in late 2013 or early 2014, we are excited about the potential for infill growth of both measured and indicated resources and overall growth in all categories combined.”
