Charles E. Fipke (b. 1946)'s Dia Met Minerals discovered the Ekati Diamond Mine in the Northwest Territories in 1991, which sent Dia Met's shares and the value of Mr. Fipke's royalty through the roof, and sparked a massive exploration rush in Northern Canada. Enthusiasm, curiosity, and tenacity appear to be the hallmarks of Mr. Fipke: "It's the find, eh... You don't really do things for the money. You do it to try to find something, eh." This is an awesome short film about the man behind a major discovery.
