Grenville Strategic Royalty Corporation (GRC.V) is any interesting non resource stock that is worth taking a look at. Grenville seeks a highly diversified portfolio of small royalties based on a percentage of revenues in well-managed companies. The company is still fairly small and is trading at 67 cents per share with a ~$38 million dollar market cap.

Grenville is growing quickly and this morning announced its 20th investment since July 2013, a deal with BG Furniture which is an 87 year old established furniture company in Walkerton, Ontario. In exchange for an advance of $750,000 Greenville will receive a 1-4% gross royalty on BG Furniture's gross revenue.

"BG Furniture is a great example of the reinvention of Canadian manufacturing -- an 87-year-old company making a high-quality product using advanced manufacturing strategies and impeccable design. We are delighted to invest in the community of Walkerton, Ont., with this expert management team and skilled work force," noted William Tharp, president and chief executive officer of Grenville.

Grenville is an interesting stock to watch as they are following a similar business model to successful companies resource investors would know, like Franco-Nevada, Royal Gold, and Silver Wheaton. Grenville is already generating cash flow and has invested $20.86 million in 20 royalty investments since inception. The stock just started trading in March and has had a nice move upwards, even with the recent market pull-back. Some might want to observe this stock through a stock trading platform, similar to what you can learn about at this questrade review.
