This morning, Canada Carbon (CCB:TSXV) released further drill results from the winter exploration program being done at their Miller graphite project in Quebec. Since discovering the VN3 vein in December, the company has focused exploration work there. In hole DDH13-15, they intersected 1.8m of 48.6% Cg including a 0.5m intersection of 63.2% Cg. This hole hit mineralization approximately 4.6m vertical depth below the known VN3 vein. Other highlights include:
- 3.5m of 6.8% Cg including 0.3m of 50.50% Cg
- 2.3m of 8.1% Cg including 0.9m of 11% Cg (hole DDH13-11)
Hole DDH13-11 targeted a wallastonite graphite pod located southeast of the VN2 target. The company believes this pod to be within the same mineralized corridor as the one that shows below the VN2 target, extending 39.3m. This pod remains open at depth.
R. Bruce Duncan, CEO & Director of Canada Carbon stated, "We continue to be pleasantly surprised by the prolific nature of graphite mineralization at Miller. The VN3 discovery is a wide graphite vein at surface over a large airborne EM anomaly, making it a high priority for re-evaluating graphite potential in this area. We continue to investigate this area using real-time ground geophysics to rapidly identify targets for drilling in the second phase of our winter program."
The company intended to drill 1000m to test targets on the project but was restricted to 547 metres in nine holes due to bad weather. Canada Carbon originally discovered teh VN3 vein when moving the drill rig to the E3 target. Subsequently the company drilled six shallow holes into the vein to test its extension on strike and at depth.
The company also announced they have modified their bulk sampling permit to include the material from the VN3 target. Company has also engaged Inlandsis Consultants to produce a NI 43-101 compliant Technical Report for the Miller Mine Property that is expected to be completed in the following weeks.
