The Psy-Fi Blog has a must read post titled "The A to Z of Behavioral Biases". Most of us have been guilty of harboring every single one of these biases at one point or another in our lives. The worst part is that many people aren't even aware that they continue to exhibit behavioral biases which regularly have a negative impact on the quality of their decision making. At least if we are aware we have the power to make a different choice.

Natural resource investors should be especially mindful of letters A (anchoring), N (negativity bias), and U (uncertainty). Meanwhile, investors in US large cap stocks such as AAPL or LLY would do well to be particularly aware of letters C (confirmation bias) and O (overconfidence).

When researching behavioral biases I came across this post from Minyanville "12 Cognitive Biases Which Endanger Investors" - in-group bias, bandwagon effect, and current moment bias are also very powerful cognitive biases which all investors should be aware of.
